This morning in Year 5, we investigated what made the best rocket fuel. We looked at a variety of containers (of different sizes), vitamin C tables, water and blu tack and asked to make a rocket. We experimented with the variables to see what effect this had on the height the rocket flew to.
These variables included: Using different size containers, using more solid or using more liquid (water).
Please answer the following questions:
- Which variables did we test? What did we find out? What effect did this change have on the height of the rocket after launch? Can you explain this?
- When you change one of these variables, what did you do with the others? Why is this?
- Do you think shaking the container would make a difference? Why/why not?
