Title: To read and understand Victorian language based on Sherlock Holmes.
WATCH THE VIDEOS AND LISTEN CAREFULLY!
You have TWO drawing tasks!
Task-In home learning book:
1. Read the task before playing the video so you understand the outcome.
2. Listen to the story and follow along.
3. Pause and write down all the words you are unsure of.
(Use a dictionary or google to define the words and create a ‘Sherlock Dictionary that you will add to each lesson)
4. Complete the task for each paragraph in detail.
The beginning
*Add new definitions to your Victorian Dictionary.- Do this in a different colour or a coloured box so it is clear in your work!
-Draw a story board of events.
Picture 1: 21 Baker street door, who was standing outside?
Picture 2: Who does the girl meet when she is inside the parlour near the fireplace?
Picture 3: Speech bubble with Sherlock’s introduction.
Pictures 4 and 5: Draw the events Ruby shares- Label key events such as Mr Tyson accused for murder.
Paragraph 2: Crime scene
*Add new definitions to your Victorian Dictionary.- Do this in a different colour or a coloured box so it is clear in your work!
-Draw the crime scene
Draw the crime scene and label all the REASONS the murder was not committed by Mr Tyson and the murder weapon was not the brass statue.

You will need all of these notes when writing your own story- remember this a model write for a year 5 child.
