In Year 5 this term for History we are looking at the 1960s. For this weeks lesson we looked at how society changed between 1945 and 1960. We made a 1960s collage of the events, music, vehicles and clothing that happened In this era. We enjoyed looking at the different changes between these dates and some of the events that happened in the 1960s.

    1960 Lego came to Britain
    During 1960 and 1969 they had the Vietnam War
    1969 first man landed on the moon
    Did the clothing change from 1945 to the 1960s?
    In 1945, they didn’t were skirts until there knees but in the 1960’s they wore mini dresses and fashionable tops

    In 1945 the women wore long dresses up to their knees and men wore smart suits.
    In 1960 the women wore cool mini skirts and men wore leather jackets and jeans.

    The clothing did change in the 1960s because the girls were short skirts but in 1945 nothing could be above then there knee . Key events were world war and the first people to land on the moon

    Yes. The clothing did change. In 1945, women wore long dresses; they didn’t wear dresses above the knees but in the 1960’s women wore mini skirts and fashionable tops.
