2 Red Maths – Tuesday 19th May

Describing Turns

Yesterday, we learnt how to use positional language to describe where something is. Today, we are going to make progress by leaning about turns. Understanding what way to turn and how much to turn is important when finding our way around.

BRONZE – CATERPILLARS – THIS IS YOUR TASK FOR TODAY.

Have a go at turning yourself. Use 4 objects of your own and place them as the man has below. Now, face the front one and turn half way around. Which object are you facing now? Have a go at practising with a family member. Turn all the way around – a whole turn. You should be back where you started. Try a quarter turn. What are you facing now. I would love to see some photos of you practising your turns. You could turn it into a game!
