3 Blue Investigate Stems

As part of our Science topic ‘How Does Your Garden Grow?’ we have been identify parts of a plant an their function. We have started an experiment to see if the stem transports water to the flower and petals.

We used 3 different colours of water and pit some white flowers in them.

What do you predict will happen?

What is the function of the leaves?

What is the function of the roots?

What else would you like to find out about plants?

    Okay but what question?

  2. Ramandeep K.

What do you predict will happen?
I think the flowers will absorb the colourful water and the flowers will turn
    the colour of the water.

  3. Amirah T.

What do you predict will happen?
I predict that the petals would change to the exact same colour as the water.

What is the function of the leaves?
The leaves use photosynthesis. This means they use energy from the sun and produce energy for the plant.

What is the function of the roots?
The roots anchor the plants to the ground and they absorb water from the soil.

What else would you like to find out about plants?
I would like to find out why there are different types of plants and flowers.
