We celebrated a wonderful Egyptian day and it was full of amazing learning and activities! To summarise children learnt to use an atlas to locate Egypt and they did a marvellous job at doing that! They found it almost instantly and then discussed why the climate is hot in Egypt as well as using a compass to locate neighbouring countries. They then moved on to learning about Egyptian hieroglyphics and compared and contrasted our alphabet with the hieroglyphics. There was many differences and all children were able to talk about them confidently. All children created their own cartouche~ oval name plate using hieroglyphics. In the afternoon children created wonderful, colourful Cleopatra posters and then created a mummified version of themselves using loo roll! Overall a marvellous day! 🇪🇬 🤩 👏 😊
