3 White Gurdwara Visit

Today, 3 White visited the Nanaksar Gurdwara in Foleshill. We learnt how Sikhs only worship one God and how Guru Nanak was the founder of Sikhism. Everyone had an opportunity to ask questions, after this we were all offered food and a drink and ate this in the langar. We all had a lovely time and were made to feel welcome.

What are The Five Ks?

What happens to the holy book at night?

How many times a day do Sikhs pray?

  4. It was a lovely visit to the gurudwara today. Guru Nanak Dev ji is the founder of Sikhism. The holy book of Sikhs is called Guru Granth Sahib ji. It has 1430 pages and takes 48 hours to finish reading the holy book continuously. Langar (free food) is available in every gurudwara. Anyone can go there and eat langar.
    The five Ks are – Kanga(comb), Kara(bangle), Kachera(shorts), Kesh(hair), Kirpan(sword).
The holy book is covered at night to keep it safe.
Sikhs pray 3 times a day – Morning, Evening and before bedtime.
