3 White- skeleton investigation

3 White have found a skeleton!  To link with our amazing bodies science unit, we have agreed to help the scientists to calculate the age of the individual when they died.

The children were challenged to plan and carry out an investigation. They decided to collect some measurements from people of different ages which they could then compare with the skeleton to determine an age group.

Thank you to the Year 1 and Year 6 children, Miss Shilton and Mr Mashford who all contributed to our investigation by allowing us to measure parts of their body.

Which parts of the body did we decide to measure and why?

What equipment did we need to carry out our investigation?

What were our findings?
