4 Blue – The Story of the Windrush

This week in 4 Blue we have been learning all about the Story of the Windrush by K.Chimbiri.

We learnt that after WWII the Empire Windrush brought people to England (the Mother Country) from the Caribbean.

We explored what life was like for these people and how this generation has helped to shape the country we live in today. They suffered a lot of hardships.

We explored our own British Values as well as looking at recent news about this – The Windrush Scandal and what hardships these people have faced recently. We used our knowledge of British Values to put across our own viewpoints based on what we thought.

Some of us completed a SOLE project, while others explored the issue in class with Miss Redhead.

Here is what we found:

What have you learnt this week?

What can you tell me about the Windrush?

What are your opinions on the Windrush Scandal?

Some good responses just remember they were not asked to leave because of their race they were asked to leave because they did not have documents to prove they were British. I agree with what you are saying and that this is not fair. You all produced some great work this week well done.

    2. The windrush story is about people traveling from Jamaica to their respective mother country England .

Sajid javid is determined to investigate why they were deported . Despite concerns that it could point the finger at decisions made during Threasa May’s tenure .

The home secutary announced last month a review , after it emerged that some immigrants applying to stay in Britain had been wrongly obliged to prove DNA samples .

I know that the windrush scandal is when the government has kikked out of the country because of there race.
