Today, we were using inference skills to consider how the logger from The Great Kapok Tree changes his feelings throughout the story. We used a drama technique called conscience alley to give the logger reasons for and against chopping down the tree.

How does the logger’s feelings change throughout the story?

Tell me one reason to cut down the tree and one reason to save the tree.

    The loggers feelings change throughout the story by him feeling guilty and how he has did his actions.
    A reason to cut down the tree is to make paper.
    A reason to cut to not cut down the tree is to not cause deforestation and ruin our planet.

    We need trees for oxygen and for food instead of being filthy rich and selfish. His feeling changes by him keeping hearing voices in his head and the whole rainforest is convinced him.

    The loggers feeling change through out the story because at the start he wants to cut down the tree but at the end he doesn’t cut down the tree.

    The loggers feeling changes throughout the story is he wanted to cut it down but then the animals and the child persuayd the logger to not cut down the tree .

    One reason to cut down the tree is to turn it to paper this is because paper is made out of wood .
    One reason you should not cut down the tree is because we need oxygen to breath and tree give oxygen so if you down the tree we would not be alive right now .

    We should cut down trees because we can get vegetable and also earn money. We should not cut down trees because we need oxygen if we don’t have oxygen we can’t breath. And if the animals which is orangutan, don’t find there homes they can die.

    The logger’s feels like to not cut down the Great Kapok tree so he went out of the rainforest, and he might feel to cut down the Great Kapok tree at the same time.

    I had fun playing the Infer we had both side to tell why should we cut down trees and why we shouldn’t.
