5 Red’s D&T Sewing project.

Today in 5 Red we have been learning how to sew and thread. Our learning objective was to create strong and secure running stitches to secure fabric. To achieve this we started off by threading the needle, which was tricky a first! Once we had mastered the threading we went on to sew a running stitch, up through the hole down through the next hole. This was new to most of us, but determination steered us forward. Our next task was to make a soft toy. We sewed 2 pieces of fabric together, added stuffing and then added embellishments to the fabric.

Take a look at our amazing sewing achievements below.

I think that the sewing was the hardest because I have never done sewing in my life and you have to be careful not to hurt yourself.
I found the threading actually very easy to be honest because there wern’t that many steps to do and you just put it in and out.

I think threading was hard because it was tedious.
Sewing was easy because all we had to do was go in and out.

I think sewing was hard because it was so tiny and threading was easy because there weren’t that much steps to follow

I found threading a bit hard because the thread doesn’t always go in.
I found sewing really easy because you just go up and down.

I found sewing easy and threading a little bit hard because you had to concentrate on not pricking your finger
    But it was fun.
