This week the children have been studying the book “Coming to England” by Floella Benjamin. They explored the emotions within the book and worked on their comprehension skills.
Then the children worked on their independent research skills by researching the history of Trinidad and the Windrush generation.
After this they brought their knowledge together to produce a play script. We chose a few scripts from the class to act out and record. You can see the results below.

They didn’t have any problems with speaking English because they learnt that language in Trinidad because they thought it was the most spoke language, but they did get bullied for their skin colour.
