5 Red’s Reading Champions

Welcome to our Reading Champions Blog!

As a school we want to encourage a love of reading, and as a class I want you all to find books to love and enjoy.

We would like you to write a review of the books you are reading. You can pick your school book from the brown or white shelf, your library book or a book you just love! Here are the questions we would like you to answer:

Book Title:

Author:

Fiction/Non-fiction:

Your Star Rating out of 5:

Summary (what’s the book about?):

Your favourite part of the story:

How could it have been better?:

Why should other people read this book?:

You can copy and paste these questions into your comment and fill in the details next to it.  Here is an example:

Book Title: Clockwork

Author: Philip Pullman

Fiction/Non-fiction: Fiction

Your Star Rating out of 5: ***** 5 stars

Summary (what’s the book about?): It is about an author who writes a scary story about an evil doctor who makes a clockwork prince. It is also about a clockmakers apprentice who does not do his job and is worried about getting in trouble, so he decides to cheat.

Your favourite part of the story: Where a sledge crashes into the palace with the big prince dead but still moving. It is scary, but interesting.

How could it have been better?: I would like to have known more about where Doctor Kalamenius came from and what his experiments were. What was he trying to do?

Why should other people read this book?: Other people should read this because it is interesting and different compared to other books. You should read it if you like horror.

We expect you to write one review every half term. We would love it if you wrote a book review for every book you read.  If you want any recommendations on what book to read based on your interests just ask Miss Cochrane or Mrs Sharma.

Happy Reading!

  1. Book Title: Little Darlings

    Author: Jacqueline

    Fiction/Non-fiction: Fiction

Your Star Rating out of 5: ***** 5 stars

Summary (what’s the book about?): The book is about two girls, Sunset (rich) and Destiny (poor) are secretly sisters.

Your favourite part of the story: My favouritw part of the story is when destiny goes on stage and songs, and when sunset sees it, they find out they’re sisters.

How could it have been better?: I think it would be better by ending the story with Destiny’s mum and Sunset’s dad gettingvtogether again.

Why should other people read this book?: I think other people should read this book because it has a lot of suspense and it shows what life is like for some people.
