The specials songs involved the value justice as they were trying to encourage people to be strong as they were introduced in a time where people were arguing with one another just for skin color. An example song for the value respect is “Vote for me” as the Specials are trying get the prime minister Margeret Thatcher to give respect to the needy not to always care for the wealthy just because they have more value in money than the needy. Also, the specials made the song “Ghost town” as Coventry had many unemployed jobs like flour mills and car factories
where as in the South (London) there was a lot of employed jobs so the people decided to move out of Coventry and go to London for more jobs so this meant Coventry was slowly turning empty and was becoming a ghost tow that is why the Specials Ghost town”. In addition the Specials wrote the song “Message to you Rudy” because they were trying to encourage a person to think about maybe what he was gonna do in the future to have a better living.

My favourite part on this day was when we got to learn about The Specials and learn about the comparisons between things from now and back then in the 1980’s . A fact I learnt was that in south London in 1980 was that in parts of London there were more opportunities for jobs. However in Coventry in the 1980’s the prime minister (Margaret Thachery ) only agreed with rich people and closed down all the jobs. Homeless people didn’t have any jobs when they were open . That meant some people in Coventry were now standing in poverty and now more people moved from Coventry to London to have jobs. Also , this means there will be no more people in Coventry.

Their songs were influenced on people because they tried to stop racism from happening all around the city and other places in the world. The special were made in 1977 and performed there song in the same year they were invented. The specials became very famous in 1999 because they tried to spread peace.in one of their songs they talk about Nelson Mandela because he got arrested for trying to spread peace.they still run now.even though people around them were becoming less wealthier as they were becoming more wealthier they all still wrote songs so the people that were losing quite abit of money could get more money.the people around them were becoming poor because Margeret Thatcher was depending on machinery and not humans so that caused them to getting no money and suffering and then they could die.the spcials songs were mostly about justice!
