Today we are completing word problems.

Bronze

1) A cinema has 21 screens. Each screen has 297 seats. How many seats are there in the cinema?

2) Eggs are sold in trays of 24. In a week, a farmer sells 372 trays. How many eggs does he sell in one week?

3) There are 613 nails in a bag. A DIY store has 23 bags. How many nails are there in the 23 bags?

4) It takes 18 minutes to make a toy car in a factory. How many minutes will it take to make 205 cars?

5) A school buys 172 boxes of pencils. Each box has 12 pencils, how many pencils did the school buy?

Silver

1) Broad Heath purchased 9328 packs of sports balls. Each pack contained 8 balls. How many balls in total did the school purchase?

2) A pizza shop uses 7 pieces of pepperoni on a small pizza. How many pieces of pepperoni will they use if they make 1,398 small pizzas?

3) The school is having a pizza party. They have 6,847 kids. Each student will receive 3 slices of pizza. How many slices of pizza does the school need to order so each student can have 3 slices?

4) Jamie Oliver sold 1437 cook books in a week for ยฃ9. How much money did he make?

5) A hardware store has 8281 containers of paint. If each container contains 5 gallons of paint, how many gallons of paint were at the store?

Gold

1) It takes 78 hours for a  satellite to go around the Earth. How many hours will it take for the satellite to go around the Earth 9859 times?

2) A sack of potatoes contains an average of 95 potatoes. In a year, a farmer sells 4911 sacks. How many potatoes did she sell in one year?

3) A rugby club has an average attendance of 6962 people for each match. What is the total attendance for the 39 matches played in one season?            

4) There are 17 biscuits in a packet and 3 packets in a box. A supermarket orders 15379 boxes. How many biscuits will be in the 15379.

5) A machine makes 60802 bottle tops in a week. In a 52 week working year, how many bottle tops are made in a year?
