    Show not tell
The writer has used show not tell by not saying how she is feeling at that moment but the writer has used actions to show how she is feeling for example in the text it says “Tara peered timidly around the brick wall“.

    Personification
The personification I choose was “Her heart ached within her.” Which gives me the impression that she is sad as before that sentence it says “She watched the other children laugh and shout at each other.” I think this means that she is sad because she is alone and has no one to play with . The impact of personification makes the text more informative because if the text didn’t say that her heart ached then you wouldn’t know how she is feeling or how she reacted to that.

    3) The author has written in the text, “Beautiful kaleidoscope colour.” This is an example of personification. The impact of this phrase used is describing how colourful her clothes are. A kaleidoscope is a tube with mirrors and colourful glass to create a colourful effect.

    • ‘The author has written in the text, “Beautiful kaleidoscope colour.” This is an example of personification. The impact of this phrase used is describing how colourful her clothes are. A kaleidoscope is a tube with mirrors and colourful glass to create a colourful effect’

Yes I agree BUT why is the word, ‘kaleidoscope’ is a good word to use in this instant? I believe it is used as there is an array of colours.
