As one of the main poetic features incudes; coloquisims half and internal rhymes.
In his writing he does notuse much figurative language his writing is concise as he gets to the point.
This links in with black history month as he talks about human rights as an individual.

  13. His main purpose most of the time is to pursuade.
He always uses repetition in side of his poems.
He never uses figurati vs language in his poems.
He links with black history moth because he is black and he is very well known.

  14. Most of Zephaniahs poems are about keeping animals safe and even look after them wheather you believe in animals or not .Also his poems mostly do not make sense because he uses that he would say to other people around him .

Some of the fractures that he uses is coloquoisms which is like u say things you would say normally . Most of his poems do not rhym but ther is only a few which we call half rhymes .His poems are mainly to entertain other people and to persuade other people to do the right things .

He mostly does not use figurative language and he uses barley any thyms but he makes half rhymes for e.g.(fun-mum)

His poems link to the the Black History month because he mostly talks about slavery and how they have different laws about white people and black people and that they can’t sit next on the bus together and he created laws to help that .

The poetic features that Benjamin Zephaniah uses a lot is colloquialisms and he usually write a lot of concrete poems not shape poems. He always use grammar incorrectly and he uses lots of internal rhymes(half rhymes).

The poetic features that Benjamin Zephaniah doesn’t use are that he never uses grammar correctly and he rarely uses shape poems and never(apart from a few similes)uses figurative language. He usually writes to persuade and to entertain and not to inform.

The reason why Benjamin Zephaniah’s work is related to the Black History month because he normally writes about black peoples and that they did the hard work and then later they suffered slavery. This is why the poems of Benjamin Zephaniah relate to Black History.

The main thing I have learnt this week is that he made poems for people to realise that everyone is equal and that animals shouldn’t be kill for food.

Capital letters[in the middle of sentences]
    Bold writing[during sentences]

Some of the features that he doesn’t use much of are figurative language putting full stops at end of sentences putting capital letters the start of a sentence.

Benjamin’s poem links with it because he writes a lot of poems that are the same and it relates it to Black History Month.

The main thing that I learned about black history month is bout how black people changed the world, and about Martin Luther King and about Benjamin’s poems.

  22. I think the main themes are about animals and protecting things because in the poem Talking Turkeys he talks about stopping turkeys from getting eaten every Christmas as he is a vegan and that animals fell pain like humans.

Benjamin Zephaniah doesn’t use much figurative language but he uses colloquialism and rhymes/half rhymes a lot. He also right his poem in a concrete way (a poem in verses and lines)

Benjamin Zephaniah’s poems link to black history month because he writes his poems to show and celebrate the significance of black people and to show how black people changes the community. They poems tell us that black people are not different to white people as black and white people both did things to change the world and make it a better place.

I have learnt that black people are no different from white people as they both do things to change the world and that they shouldn’t be judged on whether sink colour they have.

Benjamin Zephaniah doesn’t really use much figurative language but he does use colloquialism,rhymes/half rhymes,he also writes his poem the concrete way.

    • His poems link to black history month because he writes his poems about how animals and other species should be treated the same way and he writes about why animals should be treated the same way as humans.

I learnt that black history month is to celebrate the black peoples achievements and that black and white people should be treated the same way no matter what type of skin tone they have.

  24. I think the theme of Benjamin Zephaniah’s poems are equality and that many of his poems are based on equality and Black history month.

Some of the poetic features that Benjamin Zephaniah uses a lot are colloquialisms and Rhyme(true or internal). He always writes concrete poems(poems that are written in verses and lines).

Benjamin Zephaniah doesn’t use a lot of figurative language. His poems aren’t usually to inform but to entertain and to persuade.

Benjamin Zephaniah’s poetry is related to Black History month because Benjamin Zephaniah writes a lot about everyone being the same and so it means that his poems are related to Black History month.

and he also writes concrete poems.
