If Tom has six of 10p and three 5p. Buying an apple and 2 pencils. The apple is 59 but we need to workout what the 2 pencil are worth. answer is Pencil=8p

Challenge 3.
Well to my understanding. Amir’s and Donna’s numbers must be.
^ 385
^ 358

• Mrs Hurt

Luiza – this looks very much like Yosif’s work and he has not got them correct! Please have a go yourself!

12. Yosif I.

Challenge 1.
*Star+Star=20= ( 10+10=20)
*Heart-Star=7= ( 9-2=7)

If Tom has six of 10p and three 5p. Buying an apple and 2 pencils. The apple is 59 but we need to workout what the 2 pencil are worth. My answer is Pencil=8p
———————————————————————
Challenge 3.
Well to my understanding. Amir’s and Donna’s numbers must be.

^ 385
^ 358
———————————————————————
Challenge 4.
Well if you calculate the 4cm then you would get the answer of 64cm.
So therefore. The perimeter of this big rectangle is 64cm.
———————————————————————
Challenge 5.
If its times x the width y then obviously it would be 240cm long where we times it.
——————————————–‐————————
Challenge 6.
Well if we half all the others tower we will get the correct answer. So the answer to this is that the last tallest tower is.
24.0cm
I’m so sorry teachers if this is wrong. I had a try.

• Miss Kaur

Hi Yosif I am so glad you attempted to solves these challenges. Look at challenge one again. The value of the shape must stay the same in all three sums. So the values of the heart must be the same in equation 2 and equation 3.

• Mrs Hurt

And have a look at Q3 again!

13. Umar A.

Challenge 1:
Star=10
Heart=17
Triangle=0
Challenge 2:
Six 10p is equal to sixty pence.Three 5 pence is equal to 15 pence.Add them together is equal to 75 pence.75 subtract 59 is equal to 16.If there are two pencils then one of them has to equal 8 pence.
Challenge 3:
The numbers that they made were 853 and 385.
Challenge 4:
The perimeter of the large rectangle is 44cm.
Challenge 5:
4.8m
Challenge 6:
22.55cm

• Miss Kaur

Well done Umar, remember to show all your working out. Try to complete challenges 7-10, I know you are more than capable of trying to solve these!

14. Jeremi J.

Challenge 1
* + *= 20
10+10=20
♥ – *= 17
17-10=17
♥ – ♥= ^
17-17=0

Challenge 2
A pencil costs 8 pence

Challenge 3
385 and 358

Challenge 4
I think if you put the rectangles lengthway you would get 256 centimeters.

• Mrs Hurt

• Jeremi J.

Challenge 6
Hexagonal Prism and Cube =15.6 cm
If you take the hexagon prism of the cube you stay with 10 cm ( for the cube).
Cube and Cylinder =18.3 cm
If you take the cylinder of the cube you have 8.3 cm left.
Cylinder =8.3 cm
Cube =10 cm
Hexagonal Prism = 5.6cm
My theory is if you add the hexagonal prism (5.6 cm) and the cylinder (8.3 cm) you will get 13.9 cm. That is the exact same measurement just like on the third picture on the hexagonal prism and the cylinder. As a result of that, you will know that the cube is 10 cm. So, if you add 10 cm to 13.9 cm you will get 23.9 cm and that will be the answer of the three shapes put together on top of eah other.

Challnege 7
