What a fabulous way to end the Autumn term! We had lots of fun this week in 6 Red learning new skills and gaining knowledge to improve our understanding of the world around us.
What was your highlight of the week and why?
My highlight of the week was learning about the aroura. The aroura is also known as the northern lights. It is called the northern lights because they are formed in the northern hemisphere. They can come in a variety of colours such as green, blue and purple.
I also enjoyed learning about the tomte. The tomte protects a farmers land. If you don’t look after it it can turn it’s back on you. It also gives children presents for Christmas. In Sweden, on Christmas day, they leave a bole of porridge for the tomte. The tomte looks like a garden gnome ; it has a very long beard. Even though, the tomte protects a farmers land people believe the tomte is evil.
My highlight of the week was when we learnt about the Aurora as it was interesting that the solar flare from the sun travelled to the earths magnetic shield, some of the particles arrived at the top and the bottom of the earth .Then the particles mixed with the gases, this forms the Aurora.
I thought everyone sharing the information behind the science was great to hear!
My highlight of the week was when we made Tomtes as we all struggled at one point but we kept on trying and eventually in the end we created our very own Tomtes.
Our value resilience comes to mind!
My highlight of the week was when we made the tomtes . This is beacuse we had to put a lot of effort into our making so it was hard. The hardest part was when we had to stick on the nose and colour the tissue roll but we managed it in the end.
They all looked great though afterwards!
My highlight of the week was when we drew mountains and aurora because it was really fun learning about how mountains and aurora are formed.
You produced some great work! Well done!
Enjoyed it and also learned some new facts. Well done 6R and staff.
