Arrangements for Reopening

Before School

The school gates will be open between 8.30am and 9.00am. We are asking that children do not arrive earlier than 8.30am and continue to stagger their arrival times. Registration will be at 9am prompt for Reception – Year 6.

Parents will not be allowed on school site in the morning and children from Reception to Year 6 will walk independently to their classes once onto the school site.

There will be staff on gates and around the site from 8.25am.

End of the Day

The school gates will not be open until 3.10pm. We politely request that you do not arrive before this time as we are trying to minimise social contact.

Children should be collected at 3.15pm. Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 4 and Year 6 will be collected from classroom doors.

Year 5 will continue to be dismissed from the new all-weather football pitch using a one-way system.

Year 3 will be collected from the MUGA, using a one-way system.

We ask that all parents keep their social distance whilst waiting to collect the children.

Where possible, we are asking that children in Year 5 and Year 6 walk home independently or to their sibling’s classes to reduce adult movement on the school site

Parents must wear face coverings when collecting their children, if you do not have a face covering, you will be asked to wait until the site is less busy.

Only one adult per family is permitted on site, any other adults (including secondary aged siblings) will not be allowed on site as we are trying to reduce numbers where possible.

Nursery

Nursery session times will remain the same

Morning session 8.30am-11.30am (parents will be allowed on site between 8.25am and 8.35am)

Afternoon session – 12.20pm-3.20pm (parents can collect straight after they have collected siblings)

Please continue to use St Paul’s entrance where possible at 11.30am or 12.20pm, Hanford Close may also be used.

Parents must wear face coverings and always adhere to social distancing.

Nursery parents will be allowed to walk their children to the Nursery classroom.

Attendance

Attendance is once again compulsory for school aged children from Monday 8th March and any unauthorised absences will lead to a fine.

Organisation

PE days will remain the same and school PE kits must be worn to school on PE days.

Monday – Year 4 and Year 5

Tuesday – Year 3 and Year 6

Wednesday – Year 1 and Year 2

Thursday – Reception

Friday – Nursery

Swimming kits should be sent into school on Monday mornings as swimming will begin again from March 8th for Years 2-6.

Packed lunches should be sent to school in lunch boxes or lunch bags which should be washed daily at home.

Reading books and library books should be brought into school on Monday.

We are requesting that where possible; children and their parents walk to school. This is to help with congestion within the local area and to promote a healthy lifestyle.

We have more space on site as the building work by the pods is completed and the MUGA is currently useable. We have discussed these arrangements at length but will continue to review daily to ensure that the site and our children are as safe as possible.

We also welcome constructive feedback from parents however parents must take responsibility for their own behaviour and actions and follows the guidelines by wearing a face coveringgiving others space and limiting numbers on site by only sending one adult per family on the school run. Parents should not gather in groups on the school site or at the gates.

If you have any further questions, please post a comment on the blog (which can remain private if needed), telephone the office or email headteacher@broadheath.coventry.sch.uk.
