Wow! What an exciting and knowledgeable experience we have had in 4 Blue this week, learning all about Eastern Europe and using a range of skills to consolidate our learning of Russian art and culture. Please watch 4B’s video below.
Researching
We started by researching the artists’ country. We used our research skills to find out about the art and culture of Russia. Following in from this, we then used our research skills further to compare Russia to the UK. The artists we looked at were Ilya and Emilia Kabakov. Their artwork includes paintings, sketches, statues and multimedia to create 3D landscapes.
Exploring landscape art
4 Blue had the chance to become artists, as they exploring a range of landscape art. Also, we understood and drew with a single point perspective. We used precision skills for this.
Russian clothing
After a great start of researching Russia, 4 Blue had the opportunity to research Russian clothing, designing and making their own Russian headdress.
Exploring art
We explored figurative art and drew a human figure.
Maths
To end our project week unit this term, we applied our mathematical skills within geometry in art.
What a fantastic week it has been in 4 Blue. The children have produced lovely work and showcased their skills over the week. Well done for your superb efforts this term 4 Blue. Myself and Mrs Latham are very proud. Keep it up!
