We have had an amazing time learning, embracing and creating art work in the style of Islamic arts
First we spoke about Islam and looked closely at Islamic artefacts. These objects are used in worship, during religious festivals, or act as a daily reminder for muslims’ beliefs, their traditions, and their identity.
We then looked at different Mosques around the globe and labelled what primary colour was used to decorated them. From this we mixed white and black paint to look at the different shades and tones we could make. After that, we began to mix our primary colours to create secondary colours. We were working independently on this task, it was nice to be totally creative.
To understand why a mosque is an important place.
We walked to a local mosque to look at the architecture and artwork inside this place of worship. We were able to enter the mosque and gain a deeper understanding of Islamic culture.
