On the 25th November, Broad Heath hosted a netball competition between 4 different schools; Fredrick Bird, Stoke, Broad Heath, Southfields. Even though the day was very cold, each team brought a positive attitude to their play. In the initial group stage, Broad Heath started positively with 2 wins over Stoke and Southfields, with slick passing an consistent shooting leaning them to a 3-1 and a 3-0 win. In the final game of the group they played well against a very good Fredrick Bird team, losing to a somewhat fortunate goal. The final score in that game was 3-2 to Fredrick bird. Two wins from 3 games meant Broad Heath qualified for the final. However, on this game Fredrick Bird dominated from start to finish, with their attackers and defenders combining well, not giving Broad Heath much of a chance of possession. In the end, the girls went on to lose that game 3-0. To a child they represented or school fantastically, being both gracious in victory and defeat. A huge thank you also goes to the 3 other schools for participating in this event. We look forward to hosting other such events in the future.
