*Broad Heath vs Spon Gate- Match Report*

On Tuesday 17th December 2013 Broad Heath FC left school and made their way to their first away match against Spon Gate.

After warming up, the referee called both team Captains for the coin toss. Spon Gate kicked off the first half and started attacking straight away. They managed to get past our midfield and the striker ran all the way, but our goalie made the first save of the game. SG kept on attacking and before we knew it, it was 1-0. The first half was definitely going SG’s way, they got the ball again and the striker blasted it in the top corner making the score in the first half 2-0.

During the half time team talk, Mr Burgess and Graham gave words of wisdom and inspiration to our team hoping this would help them turn things around.

Feeling re-energised BH started the second half better than the first, however no goals were scored. Attack after attack, chances went begging. We missed a sitter 6 yards out, but we kept our heads up and took more shots. SG went on to win a corner, our goalie came out and managed to punch the ball away.

The final result was SG 2-0 BH.

‘Man of the match’ was Ronaldo! Showing super sportsmanship everyone shook hands and both team Captains led the players in cheering their opposition.
