Today, year 3 started their science topic about rocks and soils. We learnt about how soil is formed and we sorted rocks by their properties. To help us understand how different rocks are formed, we made rocks out of chocolate.
We started looking at sediments and how they form into rocks. We used grated chocolate as sediments and used the heat and pressure from our hands to form the rocks. We then compared how the rocks looked and felt.
Well done to the super scientists from each class who worked really hard to make their rocks.
