As we settle back into school life, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind you of the key messages regarding Covid-19 from both the NHS and the government. It is really important to remember that these rules and guidance are to keep us all safe and to protect others.
If you or anyone in your household displays Covid-19 symptoms then you must isolate immediately. The main symptoms of Covid-19 are a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss or change to sense of smell or taste. Please see more informaton here – https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/ . Even if you display just one symptom, you are not allowed to leave your house other than to get tested. You must book a test using the link below for the household member with symptoms. Do not use one of the community testing centres, you must book a test here – https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test.
You must also notify school if anyone within your household, including siblings, have symptoms as your child will not be able to attend school until the test results are returned. The school office staff will also ask you the first date of the symptom if one of our pupils are sent for a test. If the result is negative, then please contact the office and discuss when your child / children may return to school. If the result is positive, then you must inform school, remain in isolation and follow the instructions given by NHS test and trace. If any household members develop symptoms then they must also be tested.
Community testing is now avaliable for all people who live, go to school or work in Coventry. These are Lateral Flow Tests (LFT) and will give a result within 30 minutes. These tests should only be used by children and adults who DO NOT display symptoms. You can also collect a box of tests from a test centre or these can be delivered to your house. There is more information about this here, including the location of the test centres. https://www.coventry.gov.uk/coronavirus
It is also important to remember that we are still not allowed to mix indoors with other households. From Monday 29th March you will be allowed to meet up in groups of 6 (or 2 households) outdoors only.
