Cricket Tournaments
Even though there may be a bigger event happening in Brazil at the moment, Broad Heath’s cricketers have been involved at their own tournaments in the last 2 weeks. Both of these events have taken place at the Standard Cricket Club and involved Year 5 and also our girls squad.
Year 5 featured first and finished in 4th place out of 10 schools. There were many skills shown in batting, bowling and fielding especially by Humayan who captained superbly and showed what a brilliant batsman he is by hitting 7 sixes during the afternoon (a school record). A special mention must go to Asim and Amaan from Year 4 who made a special guest appearance and showed what fantastic players they are. Everybody ‘gained’ from the experience and are already looking forward to next year.
The following week it was the turn of the girls squad to show off their talents. They played fantastically well. They STOPPED the ball when they fielded. They LOOKED to hit the ball into gaps to score runs and they LISTENED to Mr Mountford and Muj when they gave them advice.
At the end of the day they were placed 2nd and we are waiting to hear if they will now proceed to the regional finals. Again there were many notable performances and a special mention must go to the bowling of Kushi, Areeba, Ilwad and Chanelle. The 6 hitting of Areeba, the batting of Zahra, Samaaha, Aleksandra and the fielding of Elena, Abeena and Patryca.
Well played everybody!
Well done BH cricket club!
Well done to our BH cricket teams and our two year 4s who were chosen to take part. Super results and lovely team photos. I’m not surprised to hear that Humayun got some sixes, what a star cricketer! :). I’m excited to see who joins cricket club next year!
Well done team BH- you are doing VERY WELL and each season we just get better and better- well done. We now aim for the top spot!
