Doughnuts for a Dragon

This year on World Book Day, Reception White shared the story ‘Doughnuts for a Dragon’ by Adam Guillain and Charlotte Guillain. On this day, the children came into school dressed up as a character of their choice and went on magical adventures using a time machine. The children took part in lots of activities around this story such as designing and creating their own time machines, writing adventure stories, designing and tasting doughnuts. There was a lot of fun and excitement throughout this day.

Watch the short clip below to see what exciting activities took place.

Challenge time

Write a story about a adventure you went on in your time machine? Where did you go and what did you do?

Design and make your own time machine. Can you write some sentences about your time machine? What makes it special?

What would you take with you on a magical adventure? Draw a suitcase with the items inside and then write a sentence explaining why you have chosen these items?

  1. I went to the machine. I was scared. I went to a candy land.In my bag I had wrappers so they can wrap sweets. I had candy to eat and sun cream. I am not hot then.
