Dear Parents,
We have nearly completed 4 weeks and this year has been the start of my 35th year in teaching and it has been both pleasurable and painful. The pleasure is the children who are a delight and continue to amaze me with their resilience and determination(Parents be proud, you can guide but they don’t need smothering) and the pain is the present challenges that Corona presents.
I cannot gurarantee 100% safety for you, the children or the staff but what I can do is minimise risk and ensure that all advice is acted upon. I can also share with you that we as a school did nothing wrong with the recent outbreak and the procedures we have in school are robust, effective and have impact.
I do however need to ask things of you as parents:
- You need to take some responsibility and ensure your child/children are dropped off at the correct times and also not picked up late
- You need to wear a mask on the school site- we will want exemption notes from doctors and will be contacting doctors to ensure these are vaild as unfortunately some people are giving us the wrong information and I need to protect all.
- I will never disclose names should there be another outbreak or indeed when parents give us information about others who are comprimising the school community’s safety
- If your child is working from home, they DO NOT COME ONTO SCHOOL SITE and they continue to do the fantastic home learning that is updated EVERY DAY. we listened to you and there is more teaching to support remote learning from school so PLEASE ensure your child does.
My staff in school want your children to have a great childhood and to experience learning that is meaningful and will equip them for life. All actions we take are based on dialogue with Health and Safety, Governors and the Local Authority who follow the Government guidelines. So please have confidence in us and the ability to keep doing the job we all love.
As always, take care and stay safe.
Mrs Frankish
