What a fun Maths lesson we had today 3 Blue! We found the place value of a 3-digit number and then challenged ourselves by finding 1, 10 and 100 less than a number.

    The number 7 in 574 is ‘70’ therefore the number 7 represents ten.

    What is 1 less than 326?

    1 less than 326 is 325. I know this because 326 – 1 (unit) = 325.

    10 less than 765 is 755. I know this because 765 – 10 (tens) = 755.

    What is 100 less than 244?

    100 less than 244 is 144 I know this because 244 – 100 (hundred) = 144.
