Football Match Report – Joseph Cash

On Tuesday evening, for the first time ever, we fielded a ‘B’ team against Joseph Cash B team. The team was selected from boys who had regularly attended Tuesday evening practices that had never played for the first team. As a reward for their attitude and behaviour we arranged this game for them.

The squad consisted of 8 players who were: Zayd, Corey, Mohammed, Siva, Siraj, Maciej, Arjun and Josh.

Muj, Mr Burgess and Mr Mountford gave the squad a teamtalk and a warm up before we kicked off. As soon as the game started we attacked the Joseph Cash goal with Siva showing his dribbling skills and Siraj showing his shooting ability by testing the opposition goalkeeper. Although having very little to do during the first half Corey and Mohammed kept any Joseph Cash attacks to a minimum. After a number of corners we finally scored after Siva delivered a delicious cross right onto Arjun’s head who headed it into the top corner.

The second half bought more Broad Heath attacks but Joseph Cash grew slowly into the game and Zayd was called upon to make a brave save following a swift counter attack. Maciej, after showing a number of turns came off for Josh who quickly got into the game by making some good tackles and passes. In the dying seconds of the game, the ball broke for the Joseph Cash striker who neatly placed it underneath Zayd’s reach for the equalizing goal. The match ended 1-1 and both teams were happy with their effort and performance.

Well done Broad Heath!!!!

  1. Well done to our super BH ‘B’ Team, what a great first game :). You should be incredibly proud of yourselves for showing super skills and team work. A special well done to 4R’s very own Arjun Mattu, you’ve made your class, myself and Miss Redhead very proud. What a way to end this football season!
