Tuesday 19th June the school football team travelled to Clifford Bridge to play the Semi-Final of the Ben Whealan Cup. The team was:
Moman, Abdi, Yamen, Nadal, Sami, Theo, Pasoon (C), Osman, Umarr & Kaiden D
Broad Heath looked nervous and lazy for the first 10 minutes and this resulted in Clifford Bridge taking advantage and racing into a 3-0 lead, which would be a mountain to climb for the remaining 30 minutes. The second half was much better with some determination and non stop running from Nadal & Umarr. Sami came back in the 2nd half to show a much more improved performance and made several goal stopping tackles. The game finished 4-0 and we wish Clifford Bridge luck in the final.
Man of the Match: Umarr Sankho – Never stopped running, always looking for a forward pass and looked a lot older than his years.
Football season ends with a whimper…
