Forces involved in launching a rocket- 5 White

Today as scientists we conducted an experiment combining alka seltzer and water to see how far we could launch our rockets. Following our experiment i would like you to try and answer the questions bellow.

What are some of the forces acting on a rocket as it launched of the ground?

Can you define air resistance?

Can you give me 3 pieces of key vocabulary from our science lessons?

Mr Kane.

There is only one force acting on the rocket – the weight of the rocket down (i.e.the force on the rocket due to gravity, Fg or mg) and the Normal Force (the force of the launch pad pushing back up on the rocket, FN).
2)no because air resistance describes the forces that are in opposition to the relative motion of an object as it passes through the air. That pushes the rocket down.
    3)Atmosphere air resistance and gravity.

  2. Aatifa A.

    1. The forces acting on a rocket are:
weight, aerodynamic forces, lift, and drag.
    2. Air resistance is a force that is caused by air.
    3. Three pieces of key vocabulary is:
    Gravity
    Air resistance
    And Atmosphere

  3. Japji K.

    Thrust

  4. Kaila M.

Air resistance is a type of gravity
Thrust, weight, aerodynamic and the lift and drag.
Gravity, air resistance and lift and drag

  5. Arafath A.

The thrust pushes the canister, the thrust is made by Co2
Air resistant pushes items up, if the item is big the air resistant is higher.
Three vocabulary are Co2 , H2o and atmosphere.

  6. Aaminah A.

    Can you define air resistance?
Air resistance is when it forces something to come quickly or slowly, or grabbing it.
Can you give me 3 pieces of key vocabulary from our science lessons?
Three pieces of vocabulary we learnt are:
    Gravity
    Air resistance
    Atmosphere

  7. Samanta V.

    1. Air resistance is a gas

    2. Thrust, weight, aerodynamic and the lift and drag.

    3. These three pieces are chemical reaction and gravity.

  8. Mehar R.

`1. Air resistance is a gas that makes and object fall slower.
    2) Air resistance means that it is a type of friction between air and another material.

  9. Sadeen S.

1.Thrust pushes the rocket upwards by pushing gases downwards in the opposite direction. Weight is the force due to gravity pulling the rocket downwards towards the centre of the Earth.
2.Air resistance: acts against gravity on falling objects
    3.Gravity, force thrust

2 forces used in a rocket lanuch is
    thrust and aerodynamic .
Air resistance is make thing go up .
Chemical reaction, carbon dioxide and atmosphere.

    1. Air resistance is a gas that makes and object fall slower.

    2. The four forces that are used to make a rocket launch are weight, thrust, drag and lift..

Three key vocabulary that we used in our science lesson was aerodynamic, air air resistance and gravity.

There are two forces acting on a rocket at the moment of lift-off: Thrust pushes the rocket upwards by pushing gases downwards in the opposite direction.

    Can you define air resistance?
Air resistance is used to push the rocket off the ground.
Can you give me 3 pieces of key vocabulary from our science lessons?
    Thrusts aerodynamics weight.
