Girls Football 5-a-side @ Connexions

On Tuesday 6th Feb the girls football team travelled to the Connexions leisure centre in Ryton to compete in the annual schools 5-a-side festival. The girls representing the school were:

2. Hannah
3. Nidhi
4. Sharazaat
5. Nadia
6. Leona
7. Shkula

Upon arriving we were placed in a group with Grangehurst, St Lawrence, Hearsall & Bablake.

We got off to a great start beating St Lawrence 3-0, and followed that up with a 3-1 win against Hearsall. We played a hard fought game against Grangehurst but lost 2-1 despite missing a penalty with the last kick of the game. Our final game was against Bablake but they showed their class by winning 3-0 and winning our group.

All in all our girls performed really well winning two and losing two. Player of the event was Nadia scoring 6 of our 7 goals.
