How to follow instructions 👍🏽

Year 5 have been learning  about instructional texts and the features. They have looked at a variety of texts and planning their own instructions. Today some children watched how Chocolate cornflakes were made and wrote their own set of instuctions including many features such as imperative verbs, sequential ordering and numbering. Don’t worry 5 Blue- everyone will get a cornflake cake to eat!

It was a challenge as they had to follow carefully and make sure they didn’t miss anything. Have a look…

Have a go at writing your own set of instructions. Use Time adverbial such as Firstly, secondly, next…. Imperative Verbs such as mix, put, pour, add….. and finally don’t forget adjectives such as chocolately, crunchy, scrumptious.

How can I improve these instructions?

Love the maths work. How many grams altogether of ingredients did you use and what is this in kilograms? CHALLENGE!
