Isolation support payment – school closure

• Parents can claim isolation payment support if their children have been told to isolate by the LA or their school. This would include a school closure due to COVID cases/staffing capacity due to isolation.
• Evidence is needed from the school to confirm – this would be the letter you send confirming that the pupil needs to isolate/that the school is closed.
• Please signpost the parents to website links to see if they are eligible. The payment is limited to low-income families only and people who cannot work from home affecting both parents (if not a single parent household).
• Wages and council tax records will be checked as part of the application process, and children with an EHCP are given extra consideration.
