Japan day in year 6

As part of our Japan day, we will be looking into the Japanese culture. Please write down any facts and information about Japanese culture.

  1. In japan sumo wrestling is the most famous sport. It is famous for having people over 500 pounds. Sumo wrestling lasts About less than 1 minuet and sumo wrestlers move up some stages. It takes place 6 times a year. In Japan there is a type of writing called kanji. Kanji is symbols that mean letters like a or ar ,the symbols get joined together to make a word. Kanji letters can mean different things.

The females amend males wear Kimoos which can cost up to 10,000 to 20,000 but the female kimoos are vibrant and fashionable and the males wear dull kind of colours on there kimoos but they both wear their kimoos on special occasions (like weddings or funerals etc). In education wise we only have to lear 26 letter whereas the have to learn up to 2,136 letter in primary and secondary schools. In food wise they eat mostly sea food like seaweed,sushi etc,because they are not landlocked.
    There main sports is sumo wrestling where they do it every 6 years.

Japanese people wear things called Kimonos.Men wear a black and white or brown.Women wear colourful and bright coloured Kimonos.Also their traditional sport is sumo wrestling.What you have to do is you have to push the opposition out from the ring.Did you know that Japan have around 200 flavours of Kit Kat.Japanese people write in Kanji and two more.Kanji symbols represent words for example love or peace.The rise of the Samurai was made because people or countries were trying to take Japan and steal it from them.

  5. On this day we completed many activities that challenged our knowledge of Japan s culture and history of Japan.One of them was creating a pattern for a kimo which is a dress that originated in japan and is made for boys and girls
