Japan day in year 6

As part of our Japan day, we will be looking into the Japanese culture. Please write down any facts and information about Japanese culture.

    Japan is an island in East Asia, 377,835 square km. Famous mountain: Mount Fuji 🗻 3776m. They speak kanji, Katukana, Hiragina and Japanese; they wear Shinto to special occasions.Japan is made up of 6852 islands.They use chopsticks to eat most foods it is a tradition in the Japan culture.

    Almost three quarters of Japan’s land is either forest or mountains and is difficult to be made into farms, industrial or residential areas. Japanese cuisine has become popular around the world. Some well-known dishes are sushi, sashimi and tempura.

  2. Japanese culture

    * Japanese fashion mostly relies on kimonos which are long dresses types made by fabrics like silk, velvet and cotton.

    *The food is heavily relied on nature where they serve seaweed and vegetables.

    *Theirnational sports are Sumo and Judo. Sumo lasts for about one minute and judo is a type of mzrshal arts form.

    *They enjoy tea ceremonies.

    *They drink green tea.

    *An example of their natural food are sushi 🍣,whales. People mock them and protest against eating whales because they are killing them and then wasting all the meat and phlegm.

    * They traditionally eat ramen a rice and noodle based meal.

    *As part of their floral culture their favourite and most used flower is the cherry blossom. They use them their tea ceremonies.

  3. Japan have different types of sport and they are sumo wrestling.
    There are different types of languages in Japan.
    Japan uses chopsticks to eat they don’t use forks like we do nowadays.

    We learnt about traditional sports in Japan 🇯🇵 such as sumo wrestling 🤼‍♂️ 🤼‍♂️ .And we learnt about kimonos that Japanese ppl wear.And ppl in Japan only wear kimonos in special occasions that is because they have spacial and cute pattern son it and anyways it is not just for boys but it is for females as well and kiddies can wear it too.👧🏼…Japanese have 3main languages and no more than 3 and the main big language is kanji …Sumo wrestling is way fun but unfun (not fun) to lose.
    I love sumo wrestling only because you have 6 rounds and in those 6rounds you can show you still have resilience in yourself.

  5. In Japan their official language is Japanese. The language of Japanese originates from Chinese . Their traditional sport is Sumo wrestling where they eat up to 10,000 calories a day and wrestle each other.

  6. In japan they do a lot of sports example sumo wrestling martial arts etc. Sumo wrestling is when there are 2 opponents who are trying to knock the other player down mostly pushing and grabbing.

    IN Japan the schools teach the children to learn the alphabet they have to learn 2136 letters be able to prounce them and write them. Japanese people would wear kimonos to special occasions,weddings party tea ceremonies.

    The food in Japan is very different from the uk like tofu seaweed and lucky sticks whereas in the uk we have stuff like pasta , pizza , chips and crisp etc.
    The population for Japan is 127 million and the UK population is 65.64 million the UK population is bigger.

  7. I know that in japan sumo wrestling is a national sport. One Match is under a minute. Sumo wrestlers have to eat a lot of meat to gain a lot of wait. In sumo wrestling slapping pushing are aloud. Sushi is the main food they eat . For men and woman a traditional clothing is the kimono just the kimono it’s self costs £10,000 and the whole set with sandals and a belt is £20,000.

  8. People in japan love sumo wrestling and it is a traditional sport that involves two very large people that eat about 1000 times their weight.

  9. Raw horse meat is popular in Japan.Mount Fuji is the tallest mountain in Japan.Tokyo is the capital city of Japan. Sumo is Japan’s National sport,although baseball is very popular . Japan’s licteracy rate is almost 100%.The Japanese name for Japan 🇯🇵 is “Nihhon” or Nippon ,which means, “Sun Origin”.

  10. Japan is an island in the Pacific Ocean with giant cities, huge palaces, mountainous national parks and millions of shrines and temples. Shinkansen trains connect the main islands of Kyushu (with Okinawa’s tropical beaches), Honshu (home to Tokyo and Hiroshima’s bomb memorial) and Hokkaido (famous for skiing). Tokyo, the capital, is known for the skyscrapers and pop culture.

  11. 1) Salma:I learnt about the cultural movement and the 4 eras that occurred in Japan for example: The Heian Period which is based on beauty and that means beauty on appearance, garden, homes, fashion, makeup, animals,clothing and shoes.

    3) Sahrah: I learnt about the difference between modern Britain kids life versus Japanese kids life.

    2) Haleema: I learnt about the food of Japan and I even had the opportunity to eat some of their food and gave my opinion of the food.

  13. The Japanese alphabet has three different types:kanji,hiragana and katakana.
    Raw horse meat is a popular food in Japan.
    Sometimes the trains are so crowded railway staff are employed to cram passengers inside.
    Many couples in Japan celebrate Christmas like Valentine’s Day.
    In Japan slurping is manners because it shows that you like the food.
