First Half
Broad Heath had their first fixture of 2014 playing away at Joseph Cash hoping to get their first victory in 3 years.
The squad was strengthened with 2 new additions with Ibrahim and Abdul coming straight into the starting line-up. Humayan and Rayne continued their partnership in defence having showed some very good defending in recent fixtures with Ibrahim, Tyrone and Lenny starting in midfield and Abdul playing as a lone striker up front. BH had 3 substitutes in Amaan, Ronaldo and Junior.
Broad Heath set their stall out very early into the game having some great chances in front of goal but the inform Joseph Cash Goal Keeper denying BH of their first goal.
Chanelle was as ever a very good shot stopping Goal Keeper denying JC a few on goal strikes and showing great technique with her Goal Kicks always reaching the half way line setting up BH’s next attack.
Goal 1 for BH came in the 17th minute and was scored by the ever present Lenny from midfield, this was a very emotional moment for the whole team as this was their first goal scored all season which you could see filled the team with huge emotion and confidence.
Tyrone made some very important tackles towards the end of the first half commanding and organising the team showing why he has been chosen as team captain.
First Half Score 1-0 BH (Lenny)
Second half kicked off with a few changes to BH line up with Ronaldo replacing Ibrahim who was feeling a bit under the weather.
Again BH started the half well battling well as a team working together and making it extremely hard for JC to score.
BH scored again in the 26th minute with new comer Abdul scoring his first goal for BH with a clean contact shot beating JC’s Goal Keeper.
Abdul continued to show why he was put straight into the starting line up with great energy and determination not giving the JC defenders any time on the ball being in their faces and batting hard for the ball. He scored again in the 29th minute after a great defensive header from Rayne setting Abdul up with the ball who ran through the defence slotting the ball past the JC Goal Keeper.
Lenny had worked his socks off all game and was showing fatigue so was replaced with some fresh legs with Junior coming in at left midfield eager to impress and work hard for his team.
Captain Tyrone scored next with BH having a corner, Tyrone was first to react to a drop down ball slotting home goal number 4 for BH.
Ronaldo showed some great energy and work rate since being on but was replaced by Amaan who was quickly impressing showing some very good feet work down the line beating 2 players and crossing the ball into the danger area.
Humayan and Rayne continued to head, kick and clear everything away from BH Goal, they were not going to concede!
Hatrick hero Abdul scored again late on into the game in the 37th minute with a very impressive run from midfield showing a lot of strength and power cementing his position for future games.
As the final whistle went the BH team celebrated on the pitch after winning their first game in 3 years. This win had been a long time coming for all involved and had shown that BH had been working hard off the pitch in training.
All BH staff should be extremely proud of the team; they showed huge commitment and effort and were a credit to the school.
