Level 5/ 6 Maths Challenge!

Hello Year 6 Mathematicians,

Yesterday we used our knowledge of shape to find missing angles in triangles.

To follow this work up I would like you to explain how to find missing angles using knowledge of:

– corresponding angles

    A Corresponding angles are the angles which are occupied in the same relative position so that means they are opposite to one an other so it is where a straight line ,which is 180 degrees,goes and crosses the other one so that’s is 360 degrees.
    Alternate angles on a parallelogram the two angles which are parallel.Both of them opposite side are called congruent. Moreover, one pair of the opposite side has to be congruent or maybe parallel. Furthermore, both pairs of opposite angles has to be symmetrical Size also you can call it congruent.
    Vertically opposite angles are when each angle are facing each other and opposite to each other and the two lines cross. The angles always have be equal in length.

  3. Corresponding angles have two lines which is crossed over from another line (called the transversal). Tranversal means when there is a line which passes through two lines in a shape. For example a and e is a corresponding angle.

    A vertical opposite angle is a angle which is parallel. The word parellel means when there is two things which are facing each other .

  4. Corresponding Angles are when two lines are being crossed over another line this is called TRANSVERSAL. This means the angles in the matching corners are the corresponding angles.

    Vertically opposite Angles are the angles opposite each other when two lines cross. Vertical in this case, means they share the same vertex (or corner point)not the usual meaning of up or down.

    The pairs of angles on opposite sides of the transversal but inside the two lines are called ALTERNATE INTERIOR ANGLES.To help you remember the angle pairs are on Alternate sides of the Transversal, and they are on the Interior of the two crossed lines.

    The shape parallelogram is an quadrilateral shape with opposite sides and are parallel. Each pair of opposite sides are parallel and are facing eachother.

    A parallelogram is a quadrilateral,which means it has 4 sides.All 4 opposite sides are parallel.

  8. Coressponding lines are when 2 or more lines are crossed over by one main line. The main line crossing over the others is called a Transversal. Additionally, the opposite angles in coressponding lines are always the same. For example, there are four angles – A (in the top left), 60° (in the bottom right), B (in the bottom left) and 30° (in the top right) – in my coressponding lines. Therefore, A would be the same as 60° as they are opposite and B would be the same as 30° because they are opposite. Now, if you want to check, you must always remember that the angles in corresponding lines always have 180° in total.

    Corresponding angles:
    When two lines are crossed by another line (which is called the transversal),the angles in corners are called corresponding angles.

  11. Corresponding angles are created where a transversal crosses other (usually parallel) lines. The angle is formed by using the transversal and one of the line that are horizontal. After working out one the other will all ready be done because the two line correspond.

Corresponding angles are normally formed when a transerval passes through two lines.The angles that are formed are the same position in terms of the transversal are called corresponding angles.When the lines are paralle they are opposite eachother.Transerval means when a line passes through two points.
