Maths week in Nursery

Wow what a super week of learning in Nursery, we have been learning all about shapes! Take a look at our learning below! Also, we cannot believe how quickly the past 8 weeks have gone and how quickly the children have settled into Nursery life! It is a delight to see their smiling faces each day and we hope that you have a restful and enjoyable half term! We already cannot wait to see your smiling faces on Monday 6th November!

To recognise the difference between a shape and other objects – the children sorted the objects in to ‘shapes’ and ‘not shapes’.

To identify and name a 2D shape – the children were able to recall shape names and match when Mrs Langley pulled the shapes out of her magic bag!

To draw and name a 2D shape – the children drew around a chosen 2D shape and named it.

To create a ‘Mr Men’ character using shapes – the children used a selection of 2D shapes to create their own pictures.

To develop fine motor skills – the children selected a 2D shape and developed scissor skills when cutting it out.

Fun in our provision!
