Dear 5 White,
Are you sitting comfortably? Good, then I’ll begin.
‘The time has come’ the teacher said, ‘to talk of other things, of kindness, praise and caring and where home-learning begins. And though you may not be in school, I trust you all can see, I’ve used The Walrus and the Carpenter to begin this happily.’
I know that we are all unsure about what is happening. I understand that some of you will be worried or anxious, I mean, what will you do now you have completed your favourite PS4 game!? These are strange times of uncertainty but there are some things I know to be true and these are what I wanted to share with you today.
Firstly, you are all amazing, wonderful people and I miss seeing you all everyday. The progress you have made this year has been outstanding and I’m so very proud of you. I am desperate for you not to lose out on your learning, for you to continue making the progress you deserve so keep visiting the blog and completing the home learning tasks that Miss Cochrane, Mr Janjua and I will be setting for you.
Even though the school is closed for most of you, I am still here for you. If you post a message on the blog, I will respond. I can help as best I can if you need me so keep in regular contact; let me know how you’re getting on. Even if you just want an update on William’s latest midnight adventure; he slapped my cheek last night asking where his car is! It was in his other hand! What’s that about!?
If we look after ourselves and our loved ones, we’ll be in the best possible position during this situation. Use the time you’re being given to gain in other ways too. Learn new skills, like baking, painting, whittling, animation or film-making. Learn a musical instrument, or do some gardening. I’d love to know what you’re doing, especially if you’ve learnt something new. Enjoy the company of those around you and help out where possible.
I will see you soon Ladles and Jellyspoons. Take care, work hard and keep in touch.
Mr M.
