    • 1.) The man could not even say what had happened he was probably in a mix of emotions like sorrow and anxiety is says that ” He sat in our home absorbing the unconditional love oozing from the walls” which shows and tells us that Siggmunds house was full of love and care the man left without telling them news but that quote tells us that the man left with warmth and tenderness.

.) They travelled to the ghetto by horse and cart which Cysonkai provided . Siggmund took all of his treasured itmes first so they would not be disorientated then his family took a lot of food for the road which came in handy they went on the horse and cart then a few days later they were close to arriving to Papa the city were he used to be a baker boy . Siggmund watched as the police were searching peoples bundles (bags).

.) The phrase ‘confined to the boundaries of the ghetto’ means they were pinned down at the boundaries of the ghetto which meant that they had to live there for a year and they could not escape because there were always police watching. They had to wear their regular clothes but they had to sew a yellow star on them so the police can instantly recognise them .

.) As I said in the last question everyone had to wear a yellow star as the guards can see and clearly recognise them and distinguish them from other people as they live on the boundaries of the ghetto. Siggmund saw a man chat to his neighbour without wearing the yellow star so instantly the guards pounced on hijm and Siggmund says ” I never saw him again.” so that is what happens if you are seen without a yellow star.

.) Siggmund hid his money near the fence post as the army sergeant Berces was holding them at gunpoint stealing everything worth more then 30 pengo (Hungarian currency) sopeople hid their money and belongings there was a boy who hid 500 pengo in his shaving mirror. Siggmund asked for some money as he diid not have any so the boy gave him 300 pengo which was 10 weeks worth of wages so he hid it near the fence post .
