Nurse visit in year 4

Today year 4 had the opportunity to learn more about the risks of high blood pressure.

  1. we should all have blood pressure below 120 or over 80.this is the ideal blood pressure for people wishing to have good health.At this level,we have a much lower risk of heart disease or stroke.If your blood pressure is optimal,that is great news.By following the nurses healthy living life, you will be able to keep it this way.If your blood pressure is over 120 you will have to lower it by eating vegetables.Most adults in the UK have blood pressure readings in the range from 120 over 80 to 140 over 90.If your blood pressure is within this range,you should be taking steps to bring it down or to stop it from rising any further.The reason why people with blood pressure readings in this range should lower it,even through this is not classified as high blood pressure, is that the higher your blood pressure,the higher your risk of health problems.For example, someone with a blood pressure level of 135 over 85 is twice as likely to have a heart attack or stroke as someone with. Reading of 115 over 75.

  2. I have learnt, what high blood pressure means and what things can cause high blood pressure. These are the things that cause high blood pressure:

    Smoking
    Over age
    Over weight
    Eating too much salt
    If you are a Caribbean,Asian or African
    Not exercising
    If anyone has blood pressure in your family
    Drinking too much alcohol

    I have also learnt that if we consume Cocain,Heroin,Cannobis,Anphatamines or Solvents, we are most likely to suffer from high blood pressure. My highlight of the day was when I got to check my BMI. I was happy that I was under weight and healthy!

Throughout this day, I have learnt many things that you need durning people’s lifestyle.7 million people in the UK don’t know they have high blood pressure.If you have high blood pressure you, need to exercise more, eats lots of fruit and vegetables and have healthy snack every one or two hours. High blood pressure, also called hypertension, is a condition that forces the heart to work harder and is linked with a shortened lifespan. The condition occurs when the heart tries to pump more blood and is met with resistance from the arteries.If blood pressure becomes too high it many cause death.The only way to know whether you have high blood pressure is to have it measured.igh blood pressure isn’t usually something that you can feel or notice, but if you have it you’re more likely to develop coronary heart disease or have a stroke.The vessels that carry your blood from your heart to your brain and the rest of your body. High blood pressure is also know as the silent killer.All adults should have their blood pressure checked at least every five years. If you haven’t had yours measured, or you don’t know what your blood pressure reading is, ask your nurse to check it for you.Syslotic pressure is the pressure of the blood when your heart beats to pump blood out.Diastolic pressure is the pressure of the blood when your heart rests in between beats, which reflects how strongly your arteries are resisting blood flow

  4. I learnt that you should keep a balanced diet a ,balanced diet means when you eat a fruit or vegetable and1 crip packet. We enjoyed checking our blood pressure.We had so much fun.we think that we have learnt so much.we now know to keep healthy and keep a balanced diet.

When your heart beats blood is pumped all around your body to give it energy and oxygen it needs.When blood moves the side of the blood vessels gets pushed so blood pressure can be defined as the strengh of pushing blood.If blood pressure is too high it is putting extra strain in your arteries . This may cause death.

  6. I enjoy the nurse with us she told us !any new things and I learnt that if you eat chocolate or chrisp your high blood pressure. If don,t eat vegetables or your friut they need to and sports. Some children eat vegetables and do sport so they are healthy.

During the nurses visit to our class, I have learnt that if you have to much salt in your food you will be more likely to have high blood pressure.To stop high blood pressure people should not smoke anymore loose weight by eating fruit and vegetables drinking water and milk.If we consume heroic,cocaine ,anphatimines solvents we are more likely to have high blood pressure.

  8. I found this opportunity to meet a nurse very interesting. It was also beneficial for our health as we had a blood pressure test,had a body mass index (BMI),and discussed about how to keep healthy.
    It also helped us in our topic about good and bad drugs.
    I really enjoyed this treat we had.

  9. I have learnt that if you have to much salt this can cause high blood pressure.To keep you healthy you must do lots of exercise and have your fruit and veg.

  10. Throughout ,this experience I learnt many things , such as , salt ,being overweight
    and drinking alcohol, would cause to have high blood pressure. Also I found out
    what does systolic and diastolic mean.

  11. I learnt he definition of blood pressure; as blood pumps round your body , it releases the oxygen and energy your body needs. As the blood travels through your body, it pushes against your blood vessels. The strength of this is your blood pressure.

    This experience taught me the different effects that can cause blood pressure. For example high intakes of caffeine (drinking too much coffee or tea or energy drinks – red bull) and alcohol can increase the chances of having high blood pressure which can lead to death.

High blood pressure can be caused in many different ways including smoking , people who eat too much salt and fatty food ,people overwieght , pregnant women and many more.To cure high blood pressure people should quit smoking ,loose wieght if people are obese , eat a healthy diet which includes fruit ,veg , carbohydrates , protiens and vitamins.
