We have been learning about Norman the Slug with the Silly Shell.
We felt bad for Norman when he had no shell so we decided to make one for him. We looked closely at snails and noticed that their shells had a spiral pattern. So we made a spiral shell cake for him.
Why not try one at home. Here are the instructions.
Getting the children to squeeze the icing is good for their finger control and help them to get ready to write. It is also a good opportunity to use maths language like more and less. Have fun and let me know how brilliant your shell cakes are!
