President Kennedy 6 a side

On Tuesday 25th November Broad Heath entered the President Kennedy 6 a side tournament. We were one of eight teams attending which were divided into two pools of four. Each school, in the group, would play each other and the top two teams would progress to the semi finals.

Our group meant that we would play Wheelwright Lane,Whitmore Park and Holy Family. In the first game against Wheelwright Lane both teams were getting used to the different skills required for indoor football and played out a 0-0 draw. The second match was against Whitmore Park who had looked impressive in their first game. However both defences were on top and this resulted in another 0-0 draw. This meant we we needed to win our last match to play in the semi’s.Our manager Mr “Sir Alex” Burgess pulled of a tactical master stroke in moving Rayne from defence to attack and he promptly scored a super goal.On our next attack Juniot slotted the ball past the keeper and the boys were through.

In the semi finals we were drawn against Parkgate and in a very exciting match with plenty of goalmouth action we lost 1-0.

The final was played between Parkgate and Holbrooks with Parkgate winning the trophy on penalties after the game ended in another 0-0 draw.

Squad: Ayub,Arjun,Amaan,Humayan,Rayne,Ibrahim,Siver and Junior.009
