Racing to Read in 5 Red!

5 Red have a Racing to Read display which is their to encourage more reading. Each child has a car, which they move to the next post when they have read their book. They can’t just move their car once they have read their book though! They have to answer questions and show us they understand what they have read. Then they get to move on, when they get to the end they win a prize!

This display has encouraged 5 Red to want to read more and take in what they are reading, as they know that the teacher and LSA will be asking them inference questions once they have read it. More children are taking an interest in reading and acknowledging the comprehension within the text.
