Reception Home Learning – Maths (6.01.21)

Hello Reception friends, I hope you are all enjoying your home learning. For today’s Math’s learning all you will need is some writing materials, something to write on and some toys.

Please find your group, watch the video and complete the learning and send it to bhearlyyears@broadheath.coventry.sch.uk

Firstly, let’s warm up our brains with a dancing and counting song…

Red group

Write your numbers using the rhymes to make the cards and then play the game. We would love to see photos of you playing the game and your number writing.

Orange and Yellow Groups

Send me a photo of you adding 1 more to a number. Your adult can write the number sentence or you can try yourself.

Always ask your child: What happens when you add?

Blue and Green groups

Please take photo of you exploring 1 less than a number. Your adult can write the number sentence or you can have a go at writing it yourself (challenge). Can you talk it through?

    • Well done for completing your homework. For your maths work, you need to be completing the task using objects. Do not focus on writing the number sentence, it is about ‘doing’. So, to further your learning please ‘do’ and talk about your maths learning. Well done and thank you for completing your learning.

    • Well done Tala. Your work is fantastic! I can see that you used pencils to find 1 less. I wonder if you could challenge yourself to find 2 less?
