Reception Homework

This week the children have been learning all about the Butterfly Life-cycle. Have a look at the video below to help you complete the homework:

Literacy:

Green/Blue: Draw a picture of the butterfly life-cycle and using First, Next, Then and Finally write about the butterfly life-cycle.

Yellow/Orange: Draw a picture of the butterfly life-cycle and write two sentences about it.

Red: Draw a picture of a butterfly and label it.

 

Maths:

Green/Blue: Draw the butterflies and find the doubles. Write the sum for each double.

Red: Create a caterpillar numberline to 20.

  3. First the Butterfly lays eggs, next the egg hatches and young caterpillars come out of the egg, then the caterpillar eats the egg it came out of, and makes a cocoon, and stays inside the cocoon. This is also known as a Chrysalis
    Finally after 15 days a butterfly comes out of the Chrysalis. When the adult butterfly comes out it’s wings are wet and small. Then the butterfly pumps fluids to make its wings expand and make them strong. After a few hours the butterfly starts to fly.
