RW – I can put my coat on by myself!

As part of our PSED and Managing Self we have been practicing how to put our coats on and do our zips up. Lots of us could do this independently!

  • “I put my hood on and then my arms through and my zip on. I can do the zip by myself!”
  • “First I put my hands in then pull it up. It’s a bit tricky to do my zip by myself!”
  • “You just you know the arm part, get your hand in like this and the other one. Then get the zip, zip it up and pull it and then it’s all done. I can do my zip by myself.”
  • “You put your hands in, then pull it up and then zip it.”
  • “I do it by myself. I put my arms in and out. I zip it up!”
  • “I get my coat and pull it on my arms and then zip it up.”

We all practised putting our coats on and doing up the zips. Some of us needed some support from Mrs Langley to learn how to do our zips up.

You can practice putting your coats on at home and doing up your zips by yourself. We are trying hard to develop our independence in RW and learning to do things by ourselves.
